Fieldwork
1996 Nash Harbor Project, University of Oregon
Excavated middens at the Ellikarrmiut Village site at Nash Harbor Nunivak Island, Alaska. Helped establish provenience and cataloging systems, and plan excavation strategies. Supervised excavation and screening efforts of two to four local high school students hired through the Summer Youth Training Employment Program. Mapped stratigraphic profiles and described soils. Helped plan and implement logistics including meal preparation and camp management.

1995 Engineering Technician Associate, Kansas State Historical Society
Excavated storage pit features from late Prehistoric village sites near Arkansas City, Kansas. Mapped stratigraphic profiles and described soils.

1994 Field Technician, Altamont Pipeline Project, Mariah Associates-Laramie
Tested Archaic to late Prehistoric sites along a pipeline easement in western Wyoming.

1994 Field Technician, Jewett Mines Expansion Survey, Mariah Associates-Austin
Surveyed potential archaeological and historic sites near Buffalo, Texas. Documented sites for eligibility as historic places under Texas Historic Commission guidelines.

1994 Advanced Archaeological Assistant, Lake Ilo Project, University of North Dakota
Same duties as Archaeological Assistant (below), with expanded duties. Supervised block excavations, maintained control grid with laser transits, and oversaw water screening operations at the Bobtail Wolf site, a Paleoindian site near Killdeer, North Dakota.

Excavated block units at the Bobtail Wolf site. Waterscreened, mapped stratigraphic profiles, and described soils.

1992 University of Nebraska Archaeological Field School,
Surveyed, mapped, and excavated features associated with the Thomas Kennard House, an historic site in Lincoln. Surveyed features and artifact scatters dating from the early Archaic to late Prehistoric period, on the Ogalala grasslands near Crawford, Nebraska.

1996-97 Nash Harbor Project Laboratory, University of Oregon
Analyzed faunal materials from middens at the Ellikarrmiut Village site. Oversaw student workers' laboratory work. Helped establish protocols and procedures for work with Nash Harbor materials.

1996-97 Graduate Teaching Fellow, Oregon State Museum of Anthropology, Eugene
Supervised work of three to five Museum Assistants in collections management. Planned and oversaw accession of large collections. Prepared collections and inventories as part of NAGPRA compliance process.

1995-96 Museum Assistant, Oregon State Museum of Anthropology
Inventoried collections from Katmai National Park, Alaska, for inclusion in National Park Service databases. Accessioned small collections for storage at museum.
